This site is dedicated to genealogical research involving the ancestors and descendants of Thomas Allen (1798-1843), who was born in Granville County, North Carolina, and died in Smyth County, Virginia.

William Allen Veselik, the site archivist, is a direct descendant of Thomas Allen, and he received his middle name from the Allen family. Veselik has researched his family history since 1978 and has taught genealogy at the community college level. He is a member of numerous hereditary societies, including the Mayflower Society, the Sons of the American Revolution, the Society of Colonial Wars, the Society of the War of 1812, the Jamestowne Society, Flagon & Trencher, Piscataqua Pioneers, and the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. His genealogical articles have been published in The Magazine of Virginia Genealogy, and the newsletter of the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society. He has articles pending publication in Stirpes, the journal of the Texas State Genealogical Society, and the National Genealogical Society’s Magazine.
